Amour Café sits just a short walk from Liberty Park, carving out a quiet corner in Salt Lake City’s 500 East neighborhood where European-style charm meets comfortable, everyday café culture. This spot fits naturally into the local rhythm—perfect for a slow morning with a book or a casual midday break.

The café’s atmosphere is understated but thoughtfully curated, with a clean and modern aesthetic that still feels warm thanks to friendly, approachable staff who often foster a welcoming mood that many visitors appreciate. There’s enough space to settle in solo or chat quietly with a friend without feeling rushed. Outdoor seating offers a pleasant view of the surrounding streetscape and greenery, especially enjoyable when the weather permits.

Amour’s coffee program is solid and consistent, drawing locals who value a well-made espresso or an almond milk latte crafted with care. Beyond coffee, the kitchen excels with light, savory-sweet pairings that work well for breakfast or lunch—think of their soup and grilled cheese combinations where contrasting flavors balance nicely, or house-made pastries alongside rotating gelato offerings that frequently catch regulars’ attention.

  • Best time to visit: Mid-morning to early afternoon, especially on weekdays when the café is quieter and the natural light fills the space.
  • Who will enjoy it: Readers, remote workers, and anyone looking for a calm spot near Liberty Park to enjoy thoughtful drinks and simple, fresh fare.
  • Atmosphere: Unpretentious yet refined, with a local community vibe supported by owners and staff who interact warmly with visitors.

Regulars tend to appreciate the balance of savory and sweet on the menu—from the richly flavored soups paired with almost dessert-like grilled cheese to lighter options like granola bowls and yogurt parfaits with housemade jam. The pastry selection, with contributions from both the kitchen and nearby collaborators like Publik Coffee, changes often, reflecting seasonal sensibilities without overwhelming the core café feel.

Overall, Amour Café functions as a versatile neighborhood spot that feels both intimate and inviting, avoiding flashiness in favor of consistent quality and a pace that fits well into Salt Lake City’s laid-back urban lifestyle.

This is a cute, new European style cafe within easy walking distance of Liberty Park, and it is well worth it. This is one of my new favorite places to bring a book and read in a comfortable setting with some good coffee, pastries, and a scoop of gelato. The slice of beet cake with creme fraiche is one of my favorites. They also offer some light breakfast plates with eggs and toast. There is just a good energy within this place, and everyone I see there always seems as happy and content as I am. It's great to see this addition to the Liberty Wells neighborhood.

From a simple coffee and scone to a deliciously crafted treat this is the place to go if you want good food done well. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, the baked goods are varied and always delicious. The modern and clean environment is a much-welcomed addition to the Liberty Park area.

Such beautiful scenery outside. The employees bring such a warm welcoming presence to the place. I ordered the dirty chai, and soup and grilled cheese. It's a very savory soup with I believe some sort of squash possibly. The grilled cheese is almost sweeter so the savory and sweet mix actually go really well together. The dirty chai is topped with cinnamon and each drink comes with a cute little heart shaped cookie. Definitely recommend!

Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. Got a almond milk latte, which was great. Do yourself a favor and get a grilled cheese, that was amazing! I thought the salad was colorful but a bit bland.

One of the few places that does its coffee as well as its brilliant food and baked selections. Each visit has been warm and inviting. Also it is most heartning to see the owners interacting with the guests and contributing in building a wonderful community. So much more power to them. One of my top choices simply for the delightful atmosphere of the place that is unlike many other cold, business only mindset establishments.

I love the nuance of the place. It's really soothing and have this family-feel. The food is also amazing. We had their egg plates, it was awesome and I think the price matches the food. Though, I was reluctant to try their tomato jam, but my wife was brave enough to try it. I have to say I regretted it not having one. It tastes so much better. You should give it try! And the other thing, I think they grow their own food. I saw one of the employee just grabbed basil from their garden and went straight to the kitchen. I don't think you can get fresher than that! Their coffee also tasted good.. with the nuance they've created, can't help I enjoyed my coffee so much.

Had a real pleasant experience. It was a great place to have a light lunch and espresso. The atmosphere is pretty, trendy and the layout of our dishes was very aesthetic. I loved going here, will come again.
